Bapsfontein residents enjoy weekly parkrun

Bapsfontein Hotel hosted its weekly parkrun for young and old.

Bapsfontein hosted its weekly parkrun on February 3, which began at the Bapsfontein Hotel at 08:00.

The Bapsfontein parkrun is a fun, free event, organised by volunteers for the benefit of everyone. It is also a pet-friendly event where participants can bring their dogs to join the fun.

The event takes place every Saturday morning at 08:00 on the premises of the Bapsfontein Hotel, 10 Wolmarans Street, Nest Park, Ext 1.

According to the event’s Facebook page, the route is anti-clockwise around the inside fenced parameters of the Bapsfontein Hotel grounds with a loop in the middle and returning clockwise along the perimeter to finish at the start.

People who want to take part in the Bapsfontein Hotel parkrun or want to join the team of volunteers may email bapsfontein@parkrun.com.

Forty-nine people attended this week’s event.

Douw Wolmarans finished first in a time of 22:29, followed by Wynand Wolmarans (23:39), Dehan Meyer (24:21), Teyon Green (24:42), Mark de Klerk (24:55), Alex Elsworth (27:59), Clive Whitlow (28:21), Niel Hoffman (29:12) and Morne Van Den Berg (30:48) in 10th place.

The volunteers who made possible the event possible are Amelda Basson, Aubrey Hauptfleisch, Douw Wolmarans, Davul Raymond De Kock, Ester Wolmarans, Felicity Haldane, Jeff Spiessens, Lisa De Kock, Peorina Dell, Roger Pike and Wynand Wolmarans.

Members of the community enjoy the parkrun.
