Bronkhorstspruit SAPS launches back-to-school campaign

Colonel Maqhawe Simon Dhladhla visited Zithobeni High School and identified himself as the school’s adopted police officer.

The station commander’s office in Bronkhorstspruit and Vispol members launched a return-to-school campaign on January 17.

The schools visited are in the vicinity of the Bronkhorstspruit policing precinct.

The schools visited are Zithobeni High, Mahlenga High, Mpumelelo Secondary, Bronkhorstspruit Primary, Rethabiseng Primary, Mkhambi Primary and Sinenhlahla Primary.

He wished the Grade 12s the best of luck with their academic year and congratulated the Grade Eight learners on starting a new chapter in their lives.

Dhladhla underlined that teachers, learners, and the police must work together to handle issues related to school safety.”

The learners were encouraged to organise a school committee with one member from each class. The SAPS also warned them not to bring any illegal items onto the school property.

“Police officers will visit schools to ensure safety. Principals were notified that the team will start school safety programmes by the last week of January, addressing issues related to bullying, substance abuse, and GBV.

“No incidents were reported, and all schools opened without disturbances,” said Dhladhla.
