Four die in accident on R23 between Val and Standerton

They included three adult men and and a child. They all died on the scene of the crash. 

Four people have been killed on Saturday morning on the R23 road between Val and Standerton.

 

This comes after a minibus taxi and sedan collided head-on.

 

According to the Mpumalanga Department for Community Safety, Security, and Liason, the four were all occupants in the sedan.

 

They included three adult men and and a child. They all died on the scene of the crash.

 

The taxi driver, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, was seriously injured at the time of the crash.

 

Moeti Mmusi, spokesman for the DCSSL, said the cause of the crash is still being investigated.

 

“However, dangerous overtaking can not be ruled out.”
