Fur baby from Wet Nose finds his forever home

Lex, a charming Jack Russell Terrier mix, has finally found his forever home.

Lex, a charming Jack Russell/terrier mix, has finally found his forever home. Lex’s journey has not been an easy one. He was born in 2012 and spent his early years on a plot in Sundra, Mpumalanga.

In 2015, his life turned upside down when his owner abandoned him, and thankfully, Wet Nose became his haven.

After years of waiting, Lex’s dream came true. Cornelia van Wyk, a kind-hearted soul from Pretoria, adopted him, filling his life with love and joy.

The moment Lex realised he was going home, his face lit up with a smile that melted hearts. Cornelia shared Lex has been adapting well. He listens very well and is gentle and loving.

Although Lex is new to playing with balls, he is curious and gives them a good chew.

Cornelia said, “His favourite thing – aside from yummy snacks – is his new bed. He sits in it like it is his priced possession. When he went on his first walk around the complex, he sniffed and lifted his legs on everything and was happy to meet other residents as well.

“The cats are still adapting, but he has been no trouble to them, and one of my cats cautiously befriended him already. He is a gentle, loving soul who listens attentively.

“We could not have asked for a better addition to the family, and although we still have a lot to learn about each other, he is already fitting in well. He is settling in wonderfully,” said Cornelia.

“We are over the moon that Lex now has a place to call his own, filled with love, care, and plenty of treats,” said Declan Rodocanachi, from Wet Nose.
