Foundation raises awareness about social issues with walk in Standerton

The foundation had walks from 2016 to last year and a team of 10 people walked from Kathlehong to Durban.

A 7th edition walk took place in Standerton the past week, which was organised by the Hope for Africa Foundation.

According to Tshegafatso Kitso Sello, communications manager, the walk was dedicated to the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as the victims of gender-based violence and children who walk barefoot to school.

They were joined by the executive mayor of the Lekwa Municipality, Delani Louis Thabethe, on November 20.

“This walk brings awareness to socio-justice issues,” Sello said.

The foundation held walks from 2016 to last year, and a team of 10 people walked from Kathlehong to Durban.

A sanitary-pad launch was also held for the disadvantaged in the country.

Their next stop en route to Durban was Volksrust.
