Concert proceeds go to charities in Secunda area

Marietjie School and Janelle Huis received R50 182 and R30 000, respectively.

The Nicolette Brooks School of Dancing held the Celebration of Dance concert in October and donated the proceeds to Marietjie School for Learners with Special Educational Needs and Janelle Huis.

The founder and owner of the dance school, Nicky Brooks, said they raised R80 182 for charity, and she thanked every student, parent, spectator and donor who made this possible.

“Every student of the dance school used their talent to make a positive difference to the needy in our community,” said Brooks.

She handed a donation of R30 000 to Janelle Huis and R50 182 to Marietjie School on November 16.

Estelle Coetzer, the founder of Janelle Huis and the principal of Marietjie School, Mariane Ueckermann, thanked Brooks for the donations and said they were grateful.

Coetzer said they are considering installing new security cameras with the donation, while Ueckermann said they are looking at putting vinyl floors in the school hall with their money.
