Armed robbers entered the Big M Liquor Store, situated on the corner of First Avenue and Third Street in Delmas at around 10:30 today ( November 21).
A guard from Maksimum Security, Johannes Tsokela, unknowingly passed the scene on his way to the next-door supermarket when suddenly a bullet from the back hit his bakkie.
As he got out of his vehicle to investigate, a second gunshot passed by him.
The owner of Big M was still in shock when Streeknews arrived on the scene.
Co-owner of Maksimum Security, Jolene Coombe, and a colleague Jakob Mzipa was also on scene to secure the area and to lend support to Tsokela.
A white VW Polo apparently fled from the scene.
All the relevant stakeholders were on scene and a case of armed robbery was being opened by Delmas SAPS.
