Lots of fun and excitement at Standerton parkrun

This past week the parkrun was honoring and celebrating all park runners, walkers, volunteers and spectators who show up week after week even though some are injured, have undergone an operation and have torn or stretched a ligament.

Sinkho Mzizi ran his eighth parkrun and also registered his new personal best time of 19:55 on November 11.

Kaywen Human was on his second run and improved by registering his new personal best of 21:32, with Timothy Hoop in the third position and on his third parkrun.

Patrick Tsotetsi took the fourth position, on his third run. The fifth place was taken by an unknown runner.

Edmund du Toit as a first-timer took the sixth position in a time of 26:7, while another personal best was acquired by Ayanda Dlamini who came in the ninth place with a personal best time of 28:03.

The parkrun at the Standerton River Park is a free event that offers runners, joggers and walkers the chance to complete a distance of 5km.

This past week the parkrun was honoring and celebrating all park runners, walkers, volunteers and spectators who show up week after week even though some are injured, have undergone an operation and have torn or stretched a ligament.

The runners showed up in bandages, crutches and plasters as this was the theme for honoring parkrun participants who are injured. The parkrun saw 76 participants compete, and included six first timers and 17 volunteers.

The volunteers are Antoinette Herbst, Conrie Roets, Elna Vermaak, Jennifer Naidoo, Johannes Naidoo, Krishnalal Ramdharee, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Lydia Roets, Majorie Uys, Patrick Tsotetsi, Priscilla Ramdharee, Renette de Sousa, Ruwan Vermaak, Sean Jansen van Rensburg, Strini Naidoo, Wessel Herbst and Zeldine Strydom.
