Two murdered in eMba on the same day

Constable Busi Mthethwa said community members informed the police about the body of a man lying on the ground next to a fence.

The eMbalenhle SAPS are investigating two people’s murders on October 22.

A 60-year-old man was found with multiple assault injuries, stab wounds and a burn wound on his eye.

The community alerted the police to a body on the ground next to a fence.

The deceased’s family identified him as Petros Gwebu, residing at the Marika informal settlement in eMbalenhle.

According to Constable Busi Mthethwa, the eMbalenhle police spokesperson, the police were also informed about a woman who died at the Ext 4 clinic the same morning.

When the police arrived at the clinic, a nurse showed them the body of a 32-year-old woman on a clinic bed declared dead.

Mthethwa said the woman had fought with her boyfriend when she was allegedly pushed and fell onto the bed’s headboard. She was rushed to the clinic but was declared dead on arrival.

The police opened a murder case. There have been no arrests yet. The investigations continue.
