Robbers target Ackermans in Bethal

Criminals fled with several cellphones after robbing Ackermans in Bethal on August 23.

The police have asked for any information that could lead to the arrests of several suspects involved in a business robbery on August 23.

According to Sergeant Thomas Mogadime, the spokesperson for the Bethal SAPS, three men entered Ackermans at about 11:00 as the employees went about their business.

The store manager, doing her duties on the floor, noticed them. She found their actions suspicious and decided to leave the area for the shop’s main entrance.

“While at the door, a fourth man entered the shop. He pointed a firearm at the manager and instructed her to go to the back office,” said Mogadime.

One of the other robbers ordered the staff and customers to go to the fitting room.

“The manager was instructed to open a cellphone safe for him,” said Mogadime.

There were no injuries. The police are investigating a case of business robbery and request anyone with information to contact Detective Sergeant December Jele on 060 802 2876.
