Wet Nose in Bronkhorstspruit saves dog with wire around neck

Oreo is a remarkable dog with a will to live.

Oreo’s tale is a remarkable testament to survival and perseverance. This black dog was recently found in a large business park across from Mamelodi.

A wire was digging deeply into her neck, leaving her susceptible to infection and in excruciating pain.

Her escape from a life of wire confinement was a sign of her indomitable spirit, but rescuing her proved to be an arduous task for the team of Wet Nose in Bronkhorstspruit.

According to Inspector Chanell Theart, Oreo was frightened of people, ran at lightning speed, and outsmarted the Wet Nose team that sought to save her.

Despite falling into holes and jumping fences, the Wet Nose staff persisted with a fierce determination to rescue her.

“When the staff finally managed to capture Oreo, she continued to resist their efforts due to her severe injury.

“In spite of the exhaustion and injuries suffered by our staff during her capture, they returned with this brave girl so that we could try to save her life,” aid Theart.

Oreo was treated for severe wounds and infection at the Wet Nose hospital, but according to Theart, her healing process will be a lengthy one.

“Oreo is a true fighter. She is experiencing a dip in energy and a lack of appetite, but we remain hopeful that with the care from our veterinary team and the support and prayers of compassionate animal lovers, she will pull through,” said Theart.
