An 18-year-old mother appeared in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court on charges of neglect and abandonment earlier in August.
She was arrested on July 10 after she allegedly left her two-year-old daughter at home alone on a Friday evening to visit her boyfriend.
Neighbours heard the baby crying on Monday morning (July 10) and called the police.
The police found the baby alone, abandoned, and cold inside the house which they had to break open because the mother locked the door and took the key with her.
The case was postponed to today (August 29).
