Blood service wants to paint Secunda red

Give life by donating blood in Secunda or Bethal.

The Teksa branch of the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) launched their latest initiative, the Paint the Town Red challenge.

This challenge will begin in September when the blood service will be embarking on a lifesaving journey to save thousands of lives.

Dot Prinsloo, the donor relations practitioner at Teksa Blood Service, said: “We need your help to accomplish this goal to increase the number of units collected daily.”

The SANBS’s goal is to collect 4 500 units of blood daily across South Africa.

Prinsloo said residents can get involved by sharing the content of the Paint the Town Red challenge on their social media, educating and motivating others to donate blood, and increasing the visibility of the SANBS.

For more information, or to donate blood, visit the Teksa Blood Services in Horwood Street, or contact them at 017 631 1652 or visit the blood service in Bethal situated near Spar or contact them at 017 647 5598.
