Members of the Dra Mekaar senior group got together at the NG Church Goedehoop on August 16, for their monthly meeting.
The morning was opened in prayer by Ben Moolman.
Annetjie Fulton was the special guest for the morning and she entertained members with her guitar and singing of hymns.
Members also recapped their recent outing to the Hendrina Old Age Home which was an informative and positive experience of how the Hendrina facility operates daily.
Members are asked to help volunteer their time with baking and making pancakes for the annual church bazaar that will be happening on August 25.
Another 15 more cancer bags are still needed to make Dra Mekaar’s 80 bag target. These cancer bags are either knitted or crocheted by members.
An initiative by the Cancer Association of the Life Groenkloof Hospital will be distributing these bags to patients that are battling cancer.
The deadline for drop-off is September 20. Anyone who can still help make these bags would be much appreciated.
Dra Mekaar is also calling on businesses or people who can assist with balls of wool for this project to contact Eileen Bezuidenhout.

Another project that Dra Mekaar members are urged to get involved in is the Christmas gift bags being made up for children placed in a safe home in Senekal.

Belated and upcoming birthday wishes went out to Ken Jacoby, Tilla Terblanche, Hannetjie de Klerk, Gerhardt Booysen, Kleintjie Steyn and Nicoleen Bloem.
