Criminals in Standerton take advantage of load-shedding

KSS warned that substations are damaged and stripped of cables. They said cable theft is everyone’s problem and not just a petty crime.

Kasselman Security Services (KSS) urged residents the past week to be vigilant and alert during load-shedding.

Criminals take advantage of the fact that many alarm battery systems are not able to recharge fully. Alarms should be tested frequently.

A gate motor was stolen in Sycamore Street, Florapark during load-shedding. Solar panels were stolen in Pine Street.

KSS also provided information on February 20 about the stealing of a gas cylinder in Brits Street, Meyerville the previous day.

CCTV images were circulated and while on patrol, a reaction officer identified the suspect. He was walking in Landau Street, apprehended and handed over to Standerton SAPS.

Call KSS on 017 200 1407 or 083 268 2446 if you notice any threat to infrastructure.
