Cars damaged when truck makes U turn in Bethal

A driver trying to make a U-turn with his truck caused damaged to three vehicles this morning, February 19.

The incident happened at at about 02:00 at the weighbridge on the N17 at Bethal.

According to a source on the scene, it appears that the U-turn attempt failed and the tuck became stuck across the road.

A white VW Jetta crashed into the left side of the truck.

At the same time the driver of a red Audi which approached from the other side, slammed on the brakes to avoid crashing into the truck.

The car travelling behind the Audi then smashed into the Audi.

Despite damages to the vehicles, no one was seriously injured.

The road has been closed off.
