Gunmen open fire on ward councillor’s house in eMbalenhle

The group of gunmen then opened fire on the house. 

eMbalenhle- The Ward 4 ANC councillor in eMbalenhle survived a hail of bullets on Tuesday evening, September 27.

According to police, Simphiwe Sindelo (39) arrived home from a school meeting, parked his vehicle, and went into his house.

Just then, more than 10 gunshots were fired at the driver’s seat of the car.

The group of gunmen then opened fire on the house. The shots were aimed at the kitchen door.

According to the police, more than 20 shots were fired. The gang, comprising more than five suspects, then fled the scene.

The councillor and his family were not injured. The police’s LCRC visited the scene. A case of attempted murder was opened. No arrests have yet been made.
