A party agent for a certain political party was arrested on February 5 for attempted murder on an ANC party agent at a voting registration station in Leandra on February 4.
The ANC party agent is a woman whoworked at the registration station in Ext 10.
She was stabbed in the neck after an argument errupted between the two agents. This allegedly led to an altercation in which the agent allegedly took out a knife and stabbed the woman.
The woman was taken to hospital.
The suspect will appear before the Leandra Magistrate’s Court on February 7.
The ANC condemned the incident in a statement.
