Delmas Police find woman’s body in car

The victim was found in the passenger seat with three gunshot wounds to her left cheek.

A woman was found shot dead in a car on the outskirts of Delmas at about 01:20 on September 14.

The police were alerted of a blue Ford Eco Sport with GP number plates that was parked along the R42 road

in the direction of Bronkhorstspruit, about 3km from the N12 freeway.

The police found the woman in a car full of blood.

The vehicle was locked, the windows closed and the key from the vehicle was missing.

According to Captain Carla Hartley, the deceased was lying on a passenger seat with her head hanging towards the backseat. She sustained three bullet wounds to her left cheek.

The body of a woman was found on the left passenger seat of this car. It appears that she had been shot through the window.

A bullet hole in the left front window, indicate that the shots were fired from outside the car.

Her handbag was still on the backseat.

“It is clear that the deceased was not the driver.  A crashed projectile was found on the car mat,” said Hartley.

The woman was identified as one of the Shoprite managers at the Delmas Willow Corner complex.

Her killers have not yet been identified.

The car’s tyre was also damaged.
A bullet hole indicates that the woman was shot through the left front window.
