Bethal police arrest two for business burglary

The goods confiscated are worth about R40 000.

Two men, aged 33 and 38, were arrested this morning (Friday, February 17) on the R38 road between Bethal and Standerton for the possession of stolen goods to the value of R40 000.

 

According to Sergeant Thomas Mogadime, the police were executing their visible policing duties when they saw the two men pushing a trolley covered with a blanket and black plastic.

 

The police searched the trolley and found four sets of plasma televisions, 46 cellphones, speakers and electrical cords inside the trolley.

 

The men failed to give the police answers as to why they were in possession of these goods.

 

A preliminary investigation revealed that the pair committed burglary at business premises.

 

The two will appear in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court on Monday, February 20 on charges of possession of suspected stolen property and burglary at a business premise.
