A group of armed men entered Bethal Golf Club through the back door in the early hours of October 27 and robbed the club of cash and liquor.
According to Constable Thomas Mogadime, spokesperson of Bethal Police, the men wore balaclavas and pointed their firearms at the few customers and workers who were still at the club.
The club was already closed and the two workers and about five golf players were still at the bar. One robber jumped onto the counter, fired a shot and ordered everyone to lie down before tying their hands with electric cords and shoe laces.
The men then searched all the victims and took their belongings, including cell phones, wallets and jewellery.

They also took the club’s speakers and amplifiers before emptying the cash register and loading all the liquor into their escape vehicle.
The security company, Acsu, was alerted and their security guards arrived at the scene as the robbers left. The robbers began shooting.
Acsu’s security guards returned fire. Nobody was injured. The police are now investigating the case and still search for the robbers.
