Blue Bottle Barbarians clinch victory in Standerton’s business league

Eagle Solar's Mohammed Zaman is the player who made the most runs during the tournament. He scored a total of 370, with 128 as the highest score in one match.

The Blue Bottle Barbarians are this year’s winners of the Standerton Business Cricket League. The team clinched the T20 finals on October 6 by beating Eagle Solar by five runs.

Eagle Solar scored 178/7 in their 20 overs but was countered by the Barbarians’ 183/7. Bring on Monday gave a cheque of R20 000 to the winning team to go towards the charity of their choice.

The Barbarians chose to gift Lekwa Clean Up with the winning prize money. Other teams that took part in the tournament were Multi Green Holmdene, Maximed SHS and Clasics Spartans.

Eagle Solar’s Mohammed Zaman is the player who made the most runs during the tournament. He scored a total of 370, with 128 as the highest score in one match.

Zaman was the player responsible for the most sixes. He wacked a total 16 balls out of the field. He also hit 49 fours during the course of the tournament.

Werner Mouton, also from Eagle Solar, felled the most wickets – 11. The best bowling in the tournament was Elpee Jordaan with 6/3. Quintin Kruger caught out five batsmen during the tournament.
