Standerton matriculants of 2024 celebrate their final school days

They opened the dancefloor in a non-traditional way by ending the first slow dance halfway to give way to a choreographed dance.

Standerton High School hosted their matric farewell on October 5, where 118 matric learners wore their Sunday bests for this symbolic end to their school careers.

The learners walked the red carpet and rang the monument bell, bringing this chapter of their lives to a close.

According to Sonia Steyn, SHS teacher and coordinator for this event, the matric farewell did not have a theme, but the slogan for the evening was ‘Dancing Below The Stars’.

The festivities did not end with the red carpet, as the matrics participated in fun activities during the party.

Learners signed old-school photos; many made them blush. They opened the dancefloor in a non-traditional way by ending the first slow dance halfway to give way to a choreographed dance.

The night was a success, with several parents and family members shedding tears upon seeing their loved ones all grown up.
