New hall means new hope for Holmdene learners

A new hall is built at Holmdene Secondary School to accommodate learners who stay at the school overnight.

The Two For Joy Social Club (TFJ) recently broke ground at Holmdene Secondary School to build a new school hall.

“The initial plan was to build toilets for the learners. However, we identified a greater need for a bigger building when we realised Grade 11 and 12 learners were also sleeping on the school grounds,” said Sipho Mkhwanazi, Chairperson of TFJ.

The hall that is under construction will boast functioning toilets and will be a great service to the community of Holmdene, as well as learners from Holmdene Secondary School.

Work on the hall began on August 24 and is expected to be completed by October.

TFJ funded this project and Mkhwanazi thanked everyone who contributed by attending music events and donating to this cause. Further updates on the hall will be available as the project is completed.
