Bethal police welcome new station commander

Lt Col Tsekiso Tseole (44), commander of the Bethal police station, looks forward to building strong working relationships with those combating and raising awareness of various crimes affecting the community and youth in the Bethal area.

Lieutenant Colonel Tsekiso Tseole (44) is the newly appointed station commander for Bethal Police Station.
Tseole was appointed in his role on September 1.

In an interview with the Ridge Times, Tseole spoke of how his policing career began in the Department of Defense in 2003 in Kimberley.

He then moved to SAPS VIP Protection in 2009 and then to the Tactical Response Team (TRT) in 2010.

Tseole was the coordinator for the TRT and Public Order Policing while in Kimberley in 2018.

In 2022 he was appointed as Vispol commander.

Tseole was stationed in Colesburg in 2023 where he was appointed as acting station commander until his move to Bethal Police Station in May 2024.

“Throughout my career, I have been involved with different stakeholders and NGOs,” said Tseole.

He looks forward to building strong working relationships with the SAPS departments, CPF, organisations involved in crime prevention, youth development programmes and the Bethal community.

“We face high rates of hijackings and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm. I want to add value by bringing all sections together and working together while on the ground,” said Tseole.

He said his priority is also to see that the community is being served right when it comes to opening cases and follow-ups being made.

“It is important for our people to know where their cases stand, even if it is not always positive feedback,” concluded Tseole.
