Standerton Correctional Centre gets new staff

New officials at the Standerton Correctional Services received their insignias on September 3, followed by inspiring speeches from prominent figures in the industry.

The Department of Correctional Services welcomed eight officials to the Standerton Correctional Centre with insignias after they received their certificates.

Prominent figures in the field addressed the new personnel, such as the area commissioner of Bethal Management Area Abel Mashaba and Mzwamayakhaya Dlepu area coordinator of corporate services.

Deplu was the first to address these new officers and gave a recount of the constitutional guides regarding the appointment of new officials before giving way to the awarding of insignias.

“A rehabilitator is not a problematic official. You must be an ideal correctional official capable of rehabilitating an offender. Your actions and conduct must be within the confinement of the constitution and code of conduct of the DCS,” he said.

“I am here to support you as the head of the centre. I am here to guide you as a mother. I do not feel happy to lose a member. However, I do not bother when a person gets dismissed because of corruption,” she expressed.
Nomasonto Mbamba spoke on behalf of the new officials.

“We appreciate management for giving us this golden opportunity and promise to grab it with both hands,” concluded Mbamba.
