Almost 40 people took part in the 261th River Park parkrun on August 31.
The two parkrunners who set a personal best time are Eugene Viljoen (24 minutes) and Vinod Chellamcott (55:46), while Hlengi Mphuthi took part in her first parkrun and finished the 5km route in a time of 53:09.
Teenager Timothy Hoop was the first runner to finish. He completed the route in a time of 23:25.
Viljoen crossed the finish line in second place and Theo Schönfeldt was third (27:29).
Two unregistered runners followed in his footsteps before Ayanda Dlamini completed the course in 28:34.
Thikolelwi Collins Mudau was eighth (30:29), followed by Patricia Mudau (30:30), Andrew Ainsworth (30:31) and Herman Minnaar (39:12).
The volunteers who made this event possible, are Renette de Sousa, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Sylvy Moodley, Zeldine Strydom, Charl van Wyk, Leandri van Wyk and Johannes Vosloo.
