First-timer finishes first in parkrun in Standerton

58 Participants took part in the Standerton River Ppark parkrun on August 17.

The Standerton River Park parkrun celebrated its 259th weekly event on August 16, with two new personal best times and a first-time participant.

First-timer, Thabo Patrick Tsotetsi finished his run in 22:53, followed by Eugene Viljoen (26:44) and Jose Joseph (31:21).

Jozine Francis gained a new PB of 31:42. Thikolelwi Collins Madau finished at 32:53, followed by Patricia Madau at 32:54 and Johann Vosloo (33:24). Biju David crossed the finish line at 33:32.

Theresa Schoonraad (33:36) and Andrew Ainsworth (33:48) were neck-and-neck.

The volunteers who made this event possible, are Renette de Sousa, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Sylvy Moodley, Jennifer Naidoo, Strini Naidoo, Lydia Roets, Zeldine Strydom, Charl van Wyk, Leandri van Wyk and Johannes Vosloo.

The next parkrun will take place on August 24 at 08:00 in the Standerton River Park.
