Famsa invites Secunda community to AGM

Terry-Lee Kleynhans will talk about recovery from substance abuse.

Famsa Highveld Ridge will host its AGM on August 15 at 10:00 in Secunda. The aim is to give feedback on Famsa’s achievements and activities during the year and welcome and recruit new volunteers and board members.

The guest speaker will be Terry-Lee Kleynhans, a Govan Mbeki Municipality councillor.

She joined the DA in 2018 as a volunteer and activist, became a councillor in 2020, the caucus chairperson in 2021, and the constituency chairperson for the DA in 2023.

“I always wanted to work for the community, to share my passion and use my energy for good things for others,” said Kleynhans.

“We often forget that everyone has a past and had their struggles in life. I salute Famsa for the remarkable work they do and for being part of the people who cross their path’s journeys in life.”

At the AGM, Kleynhans will share her journey about her struggle with drugs in her early 20s because of bad choices she made.

“After battling this addiction for multiple years, the road to recovery has led me to much greater things, and now I am celebrating 10 years of being drug-free.”

She will talk about her recovery process and the vital role a family plays during it. The topic for her talk will be – I was, but now I am, I live in the answered prayers of my mother.
