KSS soup kitchen feeds 300 weekly

A meal from the soup kitchen is some people’s only meal for the week.

Kasselman Security Services held their weekly soup kitchen on July 18. This soup kitchen aims to feed the Standerton vagrants and help them wherever they can.

In the past, the soup kitchen worked with many charity organisations to give those in need food, blankets, toys and more.

“We need to remember that many of these people only get food once a week,” said Yolandi Kasselman.

One person who regularly receives meals from this cause travels 7km by bicycle to fetch food for himself and his wife.

The soup kitchen dishes out about 300 meals every week, and the numbers keep rising as the word spreads.

Each meal is accompanied by a glass of fresh juice.
