Taekwon-Do students from Rayton and Cullinan are ready to be graded

They received gold medals in the following events: patterns, knife patterns, nunchaku patterns, point sparring, point combat weapon sparring, board focus kicking and special techniques.

Students from the Asian Taekwon-Do Federation (ATC) Cullinan and ATC Rayton participated in the Tiny Tiger and Avengers Tournament on July 5 at the Sports Centre in Cullinan.

All the Tiny Tigers, aged 5 to 12 years, received gold medals.

They received gold medals in the following events: patterns, knife patterns, nunchaku patterns, point sparring, point combat weapon sparring, board focus kicking and special techniques.

Justin Collett, founder of the Cullinan Taekwon-Do Club, said, “The tournament was a challenge as everyone was out to get a gold tournament medal.”


Taekwon-Do students who participated in the tournament held at the Cullinan Sports Centre.

Avengers, from the ages of 13 to 55, participated in these events: patterns, knife patterns, nunchaku patterns, bow patterns, point sparring, combat weapons sparring, special techniques and board breaking.

“All competitors received gold medals in the tournament,” said Collett.

The judges of the day were boo sabum (BSB) Alexander Grobler, BSB Svetlana Zalevskaya, BSB Justin Collett, Arwen Hickers and Dominique Hickers.

“Everyone had lots of fun and did very well. Special thanks to the sports centre staff and Petra Diamond Mine for the use of the community sports centre.

“This tournament result shows that the students are ready for grading on July 29 at the Cullinan Sports Centre,” said Collett.
