eMbalenhle SAPS has a new commander

She invited the community to call her on 076 874 6742 if they encounter challenges at the police station.

Colonel Maggie Mbokane is the new eMbalenhle Police Station commander following the retirement of Colonel Maria Sibanyoni on June 28.

Mbokane is well-known in the area. She was the Balfour cluster commander for two years until the police phased out the cluster.

She then worked at the Standerton cluster for six months before joining the Secunda cluster, where she worked as the cluster manager of information systems. Mbokane later became the Secunda Police Station’s Vispol commander.

She was then the head of Vispol in Siyabuswa before being appointed as the eMbalenhle police station commander. Mbokane is looking forward to working with the community of eMbalenhle to fight crime.

“I will work with our community to form sector crime forums that will patrol with police in our fight against crime.

“I also encourage our community to provide us with information about any criminal activities they suspect are happening in their surroundings because they are our eyes and ears.

“As police, we are there to serve them,” said Mbokane.

She invited the community to call her on 076 874 6742 if they encounter challenges at the police station.
