Members of the community, businesses, mines and various organisations turned up in their masses to join hands in a clean-up operation in Botleng, Ext Three and the N12 RDP area, Delmas.
Under the leadership of Delmas First, the operation was conducted on July 5.
The volunteers gathered at noon at the circle in Mandela Drive from where they split into groups to conduct their tasks.
The aim was to scrape and re-gravel some of the roads in the N12 RDP settlement and to rid some of the streets from rubble.
Despite the extreme winter cold and gusting wind, the operation was a great success. The management of Delmas First thanked all who contributed to the day’s event.
Before everyone went their separate ways, a welcome cup of hot soup and bread was served.
