“As police, we are forced to waste time and resources opening these false rape cases while those resources are supposed to be used to fight crimes.

“If they are having disagreements with their male partners, why do these women not seek help from the relevant government departments instead of lying under oath?” said Mthethwa.

Mthethwa said the police will embark on a campaign to further warn the community about opening false rape cases.
