Young sports teams shine in Secunda

Secunda Action Sports Kids Winter hockey, netball and cricket league will start on July 9.

Minis and junior sports teams recently competed in the Kids Autumn League hockey, cricket and netball finals at Action Sports Secunda.

Team Geckos won the mini league (ages 6-9 years) hockey. In second place were Fearless Titans and Lightning Stars in third.

Spartans were the winners in the little league (ages 10-13 years). Second place went to Red Raptors and Backstick Warriors 1 finished third.

The Autumn Cricket League ended with team Fireballs in first place. Raging Bulls SNR came second and SB Galaxy third.


Team Gecko’s were the winners of the Autumn Mini League (ages 6-9 years) hockey.

In the mini league, Wildehonde were victorious. In second were Arctic Bears while the Ratels finished in third place.

Evander Go Getters claimed first place in the netball mini league (ages 6-7 years). Second place was the Powerpuff Girls followed by third place Action Poppy’s.

Shooting Stars won in the mini league (ages 8-9 years). Fruit Hoops finished in second place and the Pink Pandas in third.


Spartans were the winners in the Autumn Little League hockey (ages 10-13 years).

The little league (ages 10-11 years, team one) winners were Thunder Cats. Second place was SEC 11B and third were Glitzy Angels.

The little league (ages 10-11 years, teams two) winners were Evander Go Getters, followed by second-place Stardust Fairies and third-place Chasing Rainbows.

Team Footloose finished first in the little league (ages 12-13 years, team one). Second were the Sky Scrapers and Hot Shots in third place.

The little league (ages 12-13 years, team two) winners were Secunda Shots, with Jumping Jills finishing second and Bokkie Shots third.


Wildehonde were victorious with their first-place win in the Autumn Mini League cricket finals.

Evander Go Getters finished first in the netball Mini League (ages 6-7 years).

Shooting Stars were the winners in the Mini League netball (ages 8-9 years).

Thunder Cats were first in the Little League (ages 10-11 years, team one).

The Little League (ages 10-11 years, team two) winners was the Evander Go Getters team.
