Bikers donate blankets to soup kitchen in Standerton

According to Ivett Potgieter of the Standerton Biker Angels, they gave 210 blankets to the needy.

Kasselman Security Services, with the help of the Standerton Biker Angels, held their weekly soup kitchen on June 12, bringing a sense of warmth.

The team dished up chicken stew served on a bed of rice. Each recipient received a blanket with their food to help stifle the cold of this winter.

According to Ivett Potgieter of the Standerton Biker Angels, they gave 210 blankets to the needy.

“We originally planned on handing out 80 blankets but changed course after finding how many people typically receive food on these occasions,” said Potgieter.

The soup kitchen takes place at the Kasselman office every Wednesday and fed about 300 people during this collaboration.
