Spiking incident on N4 towards Pretoria

The Bronkhorstspruit K9 Unit reacted swiftly when the spiking on the N4 took place.

A spiking incident occurred on the N4 highway towards Pretoria on June 12 at about 20:00, between Balmoral and the Mpumalanga and Gauteng border bridges.

Constable Munyadziwa Cathrine Ramovha, the communications officer for the Bronkhorstspruit SAPS said, “The victim of the spiking escaped unharmed but was left traumatised.”

According to the victim, the incident took place approximately 3km away from a previous incident.

Bronkhorstspruit K9 units responded swiftly to the scene, assisting the victim in changing their tyre.

Their prompt response ensured the situation remained under control.

While the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation, authorities urge motorists to exercise caution and remain vigilant.

Car spiking, whether intentional or accidental, can have devastating consequences.

“This incident serves as a reminder to drivers to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity.”
