Secunda gymnasts excel at competition
Two walk away with three gold medals each.
Gymnasts of the Secunda Gymnastics Club excelled at the SAA Arialnastix Club’s competition held in Benoni on May 17 and 18.
The gymnasts competed in three items, including tumble, trampoline and bench. The Secunda Gymnastics Club brought home 10 gold medals, five silver medals and two bronze medals.
Jane du Preez and Wessel Vermaas walked away with three gold medals each in the tumble, trampoline, and bench categories.
The other gymnasts who excelled were Jethro Holloway, who won two gold medals in trampoline and tumble and a silver medal in the bench.
Leane Becker and Tumelo Ngxongo both walked away with gold medals in the trampoline division.
Xander Mellet won a gold medal in tumble and two silver medals in trampoline and the bench.
Kristine Pienaar won a silver medal in the bench division, Jeremiah Singh won a silver medal in the trampoline and a bronze medal in the bench, while Christie van der Merwe walked away with a bronze medal in the trampoline division.
