Power Outage at Standerton Water Treatment Plant

The Freedom Front Plus took the bull by the horns to ensure that residents of Ward 7 are supplied with water.

The communications department of the Lekwa Municipality indicated that there is a power outage at the Standerton Water Treatment Plant.

The outage is attributed to a fault on the electrical line leading to the facility, resulting in the blowing of the fuse.

Their technical team is currently on-site to address the issue and restore power as swiftly as possible. Every effort is being made to resolve this challenge and minimise any inconvenience caused.

The Freedom Front Plus took the bull by the horns to ensure that residents of Ward 7 are supplied with water.

According to Wilma Venter, ward councillor, they are dependent on JoJo tanks, with no running water available.

One of the main tanks was damaged about seven months ago. Lekwa removed it, but did not replace it.

The party contacted the Municipal Manager, Malosi Lamola, who gave permission that a new tank will be installed as soon as possible.

A water truck has been sent in the meantime.
