Francois Kruger is Delmas Golf Club champion

Francois Kruger is the new club champion of Delmas Golf Club. The club hosted its annual club championships on March 22 and 23.

After Saturday’s completion, the results were:

• In the A-division, the best gross score was Marco de Villiers and the best net, Johan Delport.
• In the B-division, Pieter van der Merwe came in first on best gross with best net, Sifiso Masuku.
• In the C-division, Evan Coetzer and Jorrie Jordaan came out tops.

Play continued on Sunday, and in the A-division, Pieter Combrink came first as best gross, while Arno Kruger landed in first place with the best net.

In the B-division, Ean Nel was first with the best gross and Frans Cronjé as the best net. Hannes van der Walt won the C-division.

After two days of intense golf, the club results were:

• Francois Kruger played his way into the position of club champion with a minus-four gross score.

• The runner-up is Izak Marais, with minus-three gross.

Adriaan Benadie was the best overall player.

• In the B-division, best gross Frans Venter. Venter won with 162 points, and Melissa Venter took it for the C-division with 68 points.

The club committee and players thanked their sponsor, the Scheepers family from the Sasol filling station, the course keepers, Hannes van der Walt and Francois Kruger, the marshall and rules official, Johan Roos, club manager Bruwer Burger, Leandri and her team from We Meat Again, and all the players who participated in this year’s club championships.
