Police confirm body of missing man Siya Mabena
A search was conducted by the Delta 1 Rescue Diving team who found Mabena’s vehicle in the dam and his lifeless body inside of it.
Serg Zuki Mxhotyelwa, the spokesperson for the Evander Police, has confirmed that the body recovered at the Unicor Dam yesterday, March 10 at around 14:00, is that of Siya Mabena.
Mabena was reported missing when he was travelling from Secunda to Evander and his tracker signal was lost on the road between SkyHill and the Unicor Dam at around 1:50 the morning.
A search was conducted by the Delta 1 Rescue Diving team who found Mabena’s vehicle in the dam and his lifeless body inside of it.
The vehicle will be recovered today, March 11.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by police.
