Good results see local matrics of 2023 excel

Highveld Muslim School achieved 100% pass rate and Hoërskool Hoogenhout 99.1%.

The 11 matrics of 2023 at Highveld Muslim School achieved a 100% pass rate, while Hoërskool Hoogenhout in Bethal achieved 99.1%, with 106 of its 107 matriculants passing.

Hoërskool Secunda achieved a 98.9% pass rate, with 173 of its 175 matriculants who wrote the exams passing.
Evander High School achieved an 83.5% pass rate, Hoërskool Oosterland 83%, Highveld Park High School 76.9%, and Thistle Grove Combined School 43.7%.

Hoogenhout’s top achievers are Nafisa Shifa, who attained six distinctions, and Xolisile Malewa, Louise Matthee and Anke van der Walt, who each earned four distinctions.

Hoërskool Secunda’s top achievers are Lizandri Mans and Johan Nel, who each attained eight distinctions; Tiaan de la Rey, Sibusiso Ngubane, Lana Hyman and Anzel Nieuwenhuis, who each obtained seven; Ulindi de Vos, Armand Kwooitz, Gunter du Plessis and Delené Botterill, who each attained six; Chadé Erasmus, Anja Smith, Surike Jonker and Suné Stander, who each attained five; and Keagan Willenberg, Chené de Bruin, Shani Greyling and Blake Klasen, who each earned four.

Hoërskool Oosterland’s top achievers are Xantia Engelbrecht, who got seven distinctions; Alexander Stöger, who attained six; and Riandri Lourens, Chalista Strömbeck and JG van Niekerk, who each obtained four.

The results of the annual challenge between Sizwakele and Ikusasalethu secondary schools in eMbalenhle about which school attained the highest matric pass rate were announced.

Sizwakele is the latest winner and top achiever among the schools in eMbalenhle, with an 83.6% matric pass rate, followed by the Ikusasalethu Secondary School, which was the top achiever in the previous three years with 80.5%.

Ikusasalethu visited Sizwakele Secondary School to congratulate them and renew the challenge for 2024.
