Doctor Petla encourages matriculants in eMbalenhle to work hard

The top 10 achievers in the reparatory exams received the Real Life & Business book of which Petla is one of the 32 authors.

Doctor Boitumelo Petla through the Dr BB Phetla Foundation is visiting schools where she presents a mental health programme to Grade 12 learners as they prepare to write their final exams soon.

The programme began at the Thomas Nhlabathi and Ikusasalethu secondary schools on October 18.

The top 10 achievers in the reparatory exams received the Real Life & Business book of which Petla is one of the 32 authors.

Petla told learners that their journey of life begins now and the way they conduct themselves at school will yield good or bad results.

“You have a long way to go after matric and you must not mess up because the uniform that you are wearing is protecting you from the world. The day you will put it down that’s when you will start to account for your actions and take responsibility.

“I am here to encourage you. If you want to achieve in life, there is no magic, only hard work.”

She told learners not to take shortcuts. Petla also encourages matriculants to sleep enough, eat fruits and vegetables, and drink more water to prepare themselves for exams.

Petla said she wants to visit as many schools as she can before exams. The programme will also be held at Osizweni and Sizwakele secondary schools on October 24 and 25.
