Hawks arrest man who manufactures cannabis oil in Secunda

Hawks confiscate equipment and dagga.

The Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit, working with the Pretoria Forensic Laboratory, arrested a man at a house in Secunda for the possession and manufacturing of drugs.

Captain Dineo Sekgotodi, Mpumalanga spokesperson for the Hawks, said they followed up on information about a clandestine laboratory and searched the house.

They found manufacturing equipment and chemicals which include four batteries, two cylinders, pipes, wire, two bags of dagga weighing more than 100kg, dry dagga, hydroponic dagga, 12 boxes of unused syringes, 50 loose syringes containing an oily liquid substance, five bottles containing a black substance, two bags of cotton wool balls, a small hand silver weighing scale, two hand grinders, nine bottles of ethyl, camphor powder, diphenyl oxide, charcoal, 57 unused cartridges, two cooler boxes and several other items used for distribution.

The Hawks established that the dagga was used to manufacture cannabis oil.

The suspect appeared in the Secunda District’s court on October 5 and the case has been postponed.
