Seriti wins Cricket Business League in Standerton

Seriti won the toss and opted to bat first, scoring 144/9 in their 20 overs.

Seriti NDC are the champions of this year’s Cricket Business League.

They beat the Blue Bottle Barbarians by three runs in the finals played on the pitch of Standerton High School on Sunday.

Their top scorer was Petrus Matthee, with 36 runs off 24 balls before being caught out by Henre Naude.

Douglas Richardson scored 21 runs before being bowled out by Jan Dirk van Dyk.

Johardt Swanepoel was the Blue Bottle Barbarians’ star bowler for taking three wickets, followed by Naude, who felled two.

The Barbarians misjudged their run pace and came up three runs short of victory. They scored 141 runs for eight in their 20 overs.

Their top batsman was Van Dyk, who scored 42 runs off 43 balls, not out.


It is wickets for Riaan Badenhorst.

Naude also shone as a batsman, scoring 26 runs off 19 balls before being caught out by Johan Adendorff from Seriti.

Adendorff also caught out Barbarian Solly van Rensburg (14 runs off 10 balls) before taking the wicket of Quintin Kruger, who made 18 runs off 13 balls.

Andrew Harper, who took down two wickets, was the best bowler for Seriti. On Sunday, Werner Mouton handed trophies to the best players in this year’s Business League.

Adendorff (Seriti) received the trophy for the best fielder. Naude (Blue Bottle Barbarian) scored the most runs in one over.

Jacques Nel (Seriti) took down the most wickets, and Douglas Richardson (Seriti) made the most runs for the season.
