55 participants line up at Standerton parkrun for the 5km

Sifiso Siphamandla completed the 5km in a time of 21:19, with Andiswamahlubi Hadebe coming in at 25:14.

Standerton River Park hosted the parkrun on Saturday, May 20 which had 55 participants checking their cellphones just before 08:00.
Altogether three athletes boasted a new personal best and two new faces were seen.
Sifiso Siphamandla completed the 5km in a time of 21:19, with Andiswamahlubi Hadebe coming in at 25:14.
Omran Marzugi registered a time of 27:17, followed by Reneilwe Tsotetsi’s 26:25, a new personal best.
Parth Jayram ran towards the finish line in his 50th in 26:55, while Thikolelwi Mudau, also in his 50th recorded a time of 27:55.
Kevin Armitage also competed in his 50th and came in at 31:28, followed by Andrew Ainsworth’s 31:44 and Johann Vosloo’s 31:45 in his 50th as well.
Brendan Archer also took on his 50th and recorded 31:55, followed by Johan Bouillon in 33:44 and Mphakiseng Tsotetsi in 35:04.
Antoinette Herbst, Charl van Wyk, Conrie Roets, Danie Human, Jennifer Naidoo, Johannes Vosloo, Krishnalal Ramdharee, Leandri van Wyk, Lizette
Jansen van Rensburg, Priscilla Ramdharee, Renette de Sousa, Ruwan Vermaak, Sylvy Moodley and Wessel Herbst took up positions to ensure a smooth
and safe event.
The parkrun is a free event, offering participants the opportunity to run, jog or walk and many a mother arrive with a baby in a pram to enjoy
the outdoors.
Athletes also bring their dogs along for that much-needed exercise and cross-country athletes can work on their fitness.
