Sailors compete at Trichardtsfontein Dam
The Highveld Sailing Club’s members excel at regionals.
Wayne Thornhill of the Highveld Sailing Club won the Mpumalanga Halcat Regionals held at Trichardtsfontein Dam from April 28 to April 30.
He collected 17 points over the weekend, while Eugene Thornhill finished second with 18 points.
Gavin Tintinger from another sailing club finished third with 33 points, and Jasper Coetzee of the Highveld Sailing Club finished fourth with 35 points.
The other sailors of the Highveld Sailing Club also did well. Jeandre Landman finished fifth with 55 points, Sean Boyley sixth with 46 points, Eugene van Deventer seventh with 49 points, Gideon Slabbert eighth with 71 points, Wihan Pietersen ninth with 71 points, Frikkie Fourie 10th with 73 points, Dries Lategaan 11th with 79 points, Coenraad Swiegers 12th with 90 points, Jakes Lock 13th with 104 points, Heinrich Pieterse 14th with 107 points and Johan van der Walt 15th with 109 points.
