Cullinan SAPS invests in restorative justice programme

According to the police, this followed several reports of fighting between children at the school. This apparently led to the suspension of many learners.

The Cullinan police and other stakeholders joined in a restorative programme against gangsterism at a school in Refilwe.

According to the police, this followed several reports of fighting between children at the school that led to many learners being suspended.

Part of the programme was to give the learners who were hurt during the attacks, and those who did the harming, a chance to communicate and address their needs.

“About 50 learners attended the programme and responded positively,” said Sergeant Connie Moganedi, the corporate communication officer for the Cullinan police, in a media statement released on February 7.

“The police and various stakeholders initiated an approached to restore good relationships at the school.”
