Robberies at homes are on the rise in eMbalenhle

Three people were robbed in their homes within four days.

eMBALENHLE– The eMbalenhle Police are concerned about the high number of house robbery cases.

According to Constable Busi Mthethwa, eMbalenhle Police spokesperson said the community need to be vigilant.

Mthethwa said a woman was robbed of goods worth R30 000 when two men armed with pangas forced open the door to her house on Thursday night, November 17.

They demanded a cellphone and a laptop. When she explained that she did not have a laptop, they ransacked her house and made off with her belongings.

A case of house robbery was opened, but no arrests have yet been made.

Mthethwa said another woman from Ext 16 opened a case of house robbery on Friday, November 18.

Four men forced open the door one of them pointed a gun at the woman. The robbers stole her belongings worth R6 000 and then sped off in a minibus.

Mthethwa said the police arrested one suspect. The other three are still at large. A third house robbery happened in Ext 11 on Sunday morning, November 20.

According to Mthethwa, three suspects robbed a man at his house at gunpoint. They fled with his belongings and R350.
