Robbers hit another shop in eKhaya Mall in eMbalenhle

Two cellphone shops were also targeted in June and July.

eMBALENHLE– The police in eMbalenhle are searching for the suspects who robbed a shop at eKhaya Mall of about R140 000 on Monday, October 31.

Police opened a case of business robbery and no arrests have been made. It is not the first time a shop in the mall was robbed.

A cellphone shop was robbed in June. The robbers looted cellphones and Yoko machines worth R200 000.

The cops were informed of a robbery in progress at Kaya Mall, but upon arrival, they discovered that the robbers had already escaped.

Police said shop employees claimed the robbers forced them to open a cellphone safe from which they stole 150 cellphones.

A cellphone shop was also robbed in July.

According to the police, the staff of the two shops were robbed at gunpoint and cellphones and cash were taken.

Police said robbers pointed firearms at employees and demanded the keys to the safe and instructed an employee to load cellphones, cash and electrical appliances into a big bag.

According to the police, one of the robbers pretended to be a customer who wanted to buy a cellphone, another robber entered the shop and pushed the employee who was assisting the other alleged robber.

The cashier was instructed to transfer R12 000 to an unknown account from the till and the cashier adhere to their instructions.

They then ran to their car in the parking lot and sped off.
